Profile Setup Guide

Personal Information

Click the "pencil" icon to edit and fill in:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Additional Name (optional)
  • Pronouns (optional)
  • Location (country/region)

Industry Selection

Scroll down and select your industry:

  • Choose "Software Development"
  • This helps with recruiter searches

Creating Your Headline

Headline Structure

Web Developer | Frontend Software Engineer | JavaScript | React | Python

Key Components:

  • Primary role (Web Developer)
  • Specialization (Frontend/Backend)
  • Key technologies (JavaScript, React, etc.)

Profile Photo & Banner

Profile Photo

  1. Click the camera icon in the photo area
  2. Choose "upload photo"
  3. Select a clear, professional photo
  4. Adjust zoom and filters if needed
  5. Save your changes

Open to Work Settings

Configure Your Preferences

  1. Click the edit pencil in "Open to Work"
  2. Add at least 5 job titles
  3. Select workplace environment preferences
  4. Set start date to "immediately"
  5. Choose "all available" under job type

Visibility Options

You can choose to show the "Open to Work" tag:

  • To all LinkedIn members
  • To recruiters only
